Monica Tang
Dr Monica Tang is a Medical Oncologist and Staff Specialist in Cancer Survivorship at the Nelune Comprehensive Cancer Centre, Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney. She specialises in the treatment of breast cancer, and leads the weekly Cancer Survivorship Multidisciplinary Team Meeting and Cancer Survivorship Service at Prince of Wales Hospital. Monica is passionate about improving the health and quality of life of cancer survivors through patient-centred care and research.
Monica holds a Master of Medicine (Clinical Epidemiology) from the University of Sydney and was awarded a PhD in 2022 by UNSW Sydney for her thesis examining the use of real-world evidence to study systemic cancer therapy use in Australian patients. Her areas of research interest include breast cancer, cancer survivorship, health service research and maximising the potential of linked health data to drive improvements in cancer treatment and outcomes in Australia. She has received research funding from the National Health and Medical Research Council, Breast Cancer Network Australia, Translational Cancer Research Network, HCF Research Foundation, UNSW Sydney and Maridulu Budyari Gumal/Sydney Partnership for Health, Education, Research and Enterprise (SPHERE). Monica holds an appointment as Conjoint Lecturer with the Faculty of Medicine and Health, UNSW Sydney.
